For a single door in an office or entrance hall a standalone terminal is enough: it stores the cards and codes itself, with no server. For several doors, time and attendance and integration with video surveillance, take a networked controller and connect readers to it over Wiegand or RS-485. Cards and reader must be on the same frequency: IC (Mifare) is 13.56 MHz, ID (EM-Marine) is 125 kHz. A two-way controller logs both entry and exit, a one-way one logs entry only with exit by push button. A face recognition terminal goes where speed and contactless passage matter — at a reception gate or on a construction site with helmet checks. Dahua equipment is sold by the piece or as kits at wholesale prices with next-day delivery in Tbilisi.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between IC and ID cards (13.56 MHz and 125 kHz)?

An IC card (Mifare, 13.56 MHz) has memory and encryption and is hard to clone, while an ID card (EM-Marine, 125 kHz) carries only a number. Cards and reader must be on the same frequency — the ASR1200E is for IC, the ASR1200E-D for ID.

What do I need to put access control on one door?

A standalone terminal or a reader with a controller, an electromagnetic or electromechanical lock, a 12 V power supply and an exit button. The lock and power supply are bought separately and chosen to suit the door.

What do Wiegand and RS-485 mean on a controller?

They are reader interfaces: Wiegand is one-way and works over roughly 100 m, RS-485 is two-way, works up to 1200 m and lets you configure the reader from the controller. Dahua readers support both.
