Description
Toolmak flat file, 8″ (200 mm). A flat file is used for finishing flat surfaces, removing burrs and fitting parts to size. File only on the forward stroke, evenly and without heavy pressure, and lift it on the return. Clamp the workpiece in a vise and hold the file level so the edge does not end up slanted. For finishing, ease off the pressure and check the surface against a square, then store the file apart from other tools.
